We have built it to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. It has not been independently audited.
What we have done
- Headings run in order down every page, with one h1 per page, so you can move through a page by its structure.
- Images that carry information have alt text describing what is in the picture.
- A skip link at the top of every page jumps straight to the main content, past the header and menu.
- Keyboard focus is visible. You can see where you are on every link, button and form field.
- Body text is checked at a contrast ratio of 4.5:1 or better against the colour behind it.
- Movement is cut back if your device is set to reduce motion.
Known limitations
Where a photograph is there for atmosphere rather than information, it is marked as decorative and screen readers skip it. Nothing on this site is explained by a picture alone.
We host no PDFs and we embed nothing from other companies, so there is no third-party content here that we cannot fix ourselves.
We have not tested every combination of browser, screen reader and device, and we have not had the site checked by anyone outside the company.
